After a course record, 9-under par round of 62 to open the tournament, Hunter Mahan finished the Barclays in Paramus, N.J., the first of three tournaments leading to the FedEx Tour Championship, tied for 31st. Hunter shot rounds of 73, 74, and 73 to finish out the week at 2-under par. While his record breaking round on Thursday grabbed headlines, Hunter also turned some heads with PGATour.com’s shot of the day on Saturday after draining a chip from the sand trap. While Hunter wasn’t in the running in the final minutes, Vijay ended a thrilling 4 days of gold by beating Sergio Garcia in the 2nd hole of a playoff. After the tournament Hunter sits in 25th place in the FedEx Cup points standings.
